Big Blue Summer of 2024
My Transformative Summer at Andover-Phillips Academy
In the summer of 2024, as a rising 7th grader, I attended the Andover-Phillips Academy summer sleepaway camp, an experience I describe as life-changing. This sleep-away camp provided a platform for significant personal and academic growth, reinforcing my desire for academic rigor and building my confidence.
Academic and Social Growth
As part of the lower school summer program, I took high school-level courses, including algebra, in which I earned a 'B.' I attributed my success to the teaching style and the support system provided by study hall tutoring. My satisfactory performance in the challenging academic environment helped build my confidence and validated my ambition for rigorous studies. The sleep-away camp was a multicultural environment where I met many international students, broadening my social and cultural horizons. Alongside my studies, I participated on the volleyball team, which I really enjoy and plan to take up when I attend 9th grade. This experience at the 'Big Blue' summer camp was a pivotal, life-changing event for me. It not only bolstered my academic confidence and confirmed my passion for challenging coursework but also exposed me to a diverse, international community, contributing significantly to my personal development.
